A New Trail Opens Through Snow Canyon

“You feel the red rock warming under your feet before the sun even clears the ridge.”
Snow Canyon State Park opened a new two-mile loop this week. It winds past lava tubes and petrified dunes, and it's gentle enough for families but still a real walk for regulars.
Rangers say the best time is the first hour after sunrise, when the sandstone glows and the air is still cool. Bring water, wear a hat, and stay on the marked path to protect the crust of the desert soil.
